Stores Negotiations Update - 06/11/09

This latest round of Negotiations with American Airlines was held in Kansas City, MO this week. Our first session with NMB Mediator Jack Kane at the Negotiating Table netted some positive results as the two parties were able to come to a Tentative Agreement on 4 Articles.

On Tuesday, June 9th, the Stores Sub-Committee along with Intl. Representative Don Videtich met with the Company and presented the latest Proposals on all open Articles. The Proposals to the Company included Articles 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,11,12,34,36, 39,40,41,42,46, and 47.

On Wednesday, June 10th, the Stores Sub-Committee met with the Company and reached tentative agreements the following Articles: Article 2 – “Definitions”, Article 11 – “Classifications and Qualifications”, Article 39 – now titled “Fitness for Duty”, and Article 46 – now titled “One Station Complex Agreement”.

Also on Wednesday, the two parties met to discuss the dispositions of Letters of Agreements and Letters of Memorandum. The Company made no additional Counter-proposals to the remaining Open Articles.

The next scheduled round of Negotiations will be held during the week of July 13th- 17th, again in Kansas City, MO.

The Stores Sub-Committee would like to thank the Membership for their “Continued Patience” as we progress towards coming to a Tentative Agreement with American Airlines.

Technical Specialists Update - 06/11/09

Final disposition and agreement on all outstanding Letters of Agreement, Letters of Understanding and Letters of Memorandum was reached.

Discussions and proposals on the use of relief assignments were exchanged.

M&R Negotiations Update - 06/11/09

Your Maintenance and Related Negotiating Committee met in Kansas City,  Missouri on June  8th thru the 11th.

A separate sub-committee reviewed Article 12 for System and Base applications and reported back to the full committee.

Your Negotiating committee formed a comprehensive proposal and presented it to the company.

Simulator Technicians and Flight Instructors Update - 06/05/09


The TWU Flight Groups representing Flight Instructors and Simulator Technicians met with the company and Mediator Terri Brown, June 3 and 4, 2009 at Flagship University.  After two days of negotiations it became apparent that we would not be able to settle the remaining articles.  At this time, future dates have not been established.  The Flight Groups will continue the mediation process when the company is prepared to engage in a settlement that members can embrace after considering our 2003 concessions.

Fleet Negotiation Update - 6/5/09


The Fleet Negotiation Committee met with the company in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas from June 2 to June 4, 2009. Mediator Terri Brown was present.

This session was encouraging and yielded some progression, moving both parties closer to an agreement. The next session is tentatively set for July 27. Once the date is confirmed, a location will be announced.

Simulator Technicians and Flight Instructors Update - 5/29/09


The TWU flight groups representing the Flight Instructors and Simulator Technicians met on May 28 and 29 at FSU with AA management to resolve articles remaining for both groups. With progress continuing to be made, the union and company agreed to meet again on June 3 and 4th at Flagship University.
