Simulator Technicians and Flight Instructors Update - 04/01/10

The Flight Groups representing Simulator Technicians, Ground School and Simulator Pilot Instructors met on March 31, and April 1, 2010 at the Flagship University in Fort Worth TX. In attendance were federal mediator Terri Brown, Tim Gillespie International Rep. Nate Pike, Earl Smith, Dave Hall, and Jim Fudge. Representing the company were Jim Weel, Asok Ghoshal, Jim Tipton, John Jernigan and Rick Padgett. The company presented a proposal for the remaining open articles for both contract groups. After a review of the economics of the company’s proposal the committee recommended to reject the offer.

No future dates have been scheduled at this time by Terri Brown. Updated negotiation information will be given as it becomes available.

Simulator Technicians and Flight Instructors Update - 06/05/09


The TWU Flight Groups representing Flight Instructors and Simulator Technicians met with the company and Mediator Terri Brown, June 3 and 4, 2009 at Flagship University.  After two days of negotiations it became apparent that we would not be able to settle the remaining articles.  At this time, future dates have not been established.  The Flight Groups will continue the mediation process when the company is prepared to engage in a settlement that members can embrace after considering our 2003 concessions.

The TWU flight groups representing the Flight Instructors and Simulator Technicians met on May 28 and 29 at FSU with AA management to resolve articles remaining for both groups. With progress continuing to be made, the union and company agreed to meet again on June 3 and 4th at Flagship University.

Simulator Technicians and Flight Instructors Update - 05/14/09

On May 12, 2009 the Flight Instructor/Simulator Technicians Negotiating Committee met at Flagship University (FSU) in Fort Worth, Texas. The TWU Negotiation Committee gave the company their comprehensive proposals on all open articles.

Mediator, Terri Brown, scheduled May 28th and May 29th as the next round of talks for our work group.
